Ivory Tirecia
I could give you a brief synopsis of myself, what I do, and such like most authors do. But I'm not sure I consider myself an author. Throwing out some identifiers and general information will always put a lens on how a story is told. I could tell you that i'm a college student, you would think I don't know what the world is like yet. I could tell you that i'm not yet 20 years old, you would think I'm naive. I could tell you that I'm majoring in International Studies, you would think me too optimistic. I could tell you that I'm in a sorority, you would think of me as superficial. I could tell you I identify as a black women, you would think of me as angry. I could tell you that I was raised in Detroit, you would think me of me as underprivileged. I could tell you I haven't eaten meat in 5 years, you would think of me as an animal rights activist. I could tell you I'm a musician, you would think me creative.
Or, you could forget all of that You we could put all of that aside and you could get to know me, as I get to know me. Because words and labels do not tell you who a person is. I may not know all there is to know about me yet but I'm getting there. But I do know that I am passionate and uncertain and absolutely love chocolate. |
